We got the most comfortable big suite in two levels containing livingroom, staircase up to a big bedroom with a huge balcony overlooking the sea.
On top of that, the room was ajoined by a huge bathroom with sunken bath. We had booked the weekend package in advance and were overjoyed with it. Everybody was so friendly and welcoming. We will come back to this wonderful place.
I left with the impression that we would not have been served if we had been staying at the hotel. We had looked at staying here but having read the reviews on this site decided against it, and we were right to do so. We tried staying at this hotel, but it seems as though they do not want any guests After our booking by e-mail we received a reply saying "do you want to book this room?
Yes, of course - otherwise we wouldn't have sent a booking - d'oh!?! After half a day, we got an e-mail back saying the room was sold to someone else When we tried to ask for alternative solutions, the only reply was "We do not have time to read e-mails all day long".
Thank you, but we stayed at another hotel instead Family of 4 with dog stayed one night at the Stora Hotellet. This hotel was not at all as we antissapated. We had booked 2 double rooms in advance. The one animal friendly room had no bathroom nor WC facilities, and we were not adviced this whist booking. Also this room was decorated in an African style with a doll looking alot like one of those woodos and animal skin.
Honestly, I thought that all hotels in were more senisible than this!!!!! Also this room had the same entrance as to the conferance room, so it was hectic the next morning with guests. Both rooms were dirty and the breakfast was poor. Chose another hotel if you can. We had very good time in this hotel. We stayed there for a wedding and all was organised very nicely.
Every room of the hotel is decorated in a different syle, according to the towns that Capt. Klassen a local sailor has touched during its trips around the world. His letters are hang on the walls. Our room was nicely decorated, with a beautiful view ofver the docks and the sea. It was not very large, but the bathroom was adequate. The personnel of the hotel was nice and helpful. The location is just excellent: right in front of Fjallbacka's harbour, almost embedded in the cliffs.
